The 2015 event is planned to be 7 days of sailing a mix of 4 days of casual sailing that anyone sail the entire Ivanpah Dry Lake or sail the practice course that will be set up for those that have the need to pass other blokart sailors. The North American Blokart Sailing Championships will also be held during 3 days of racing using IBRA rules. The fleet will be divided into 2 groups racing at separate times. Racing competitors must be on site for weight in and Scrutineering Saturday March 28. Those you are not racing will have the rest of the dry lake to sail on. Rumor is that we will have some International attendees this year; they can't stay away from possibly one of the best land sailing sites in the world.
There will be two group meals, a welcome dinner on Saturday March 28 and a Awards dinner on Wednesday April 1, in the past we have had Turkey and prime Rib dinners. For those planning on eating at the camp site other nights it has been suggested that different groups organize a dinner, buying the food, cooking it and cleaning up, they can use NABSA’s cooking equipment.
USBLM no longer requires individual permits if you plan on sailing or camping on Ivanpah Dry Lake before or after the event.
Membership renewal can be done right on the event registration form or on the nabsa.org web site.
The location is 40 miles from Las Vegas off of Interstate 15 at the CA/NV border. A group rate for lodging will be arranged at the Primm Valley Casino which borders Ivanpah Dry Lake. The rates are $37.00 a week night and $80.00 Fri and Sat night.
