Sorprendentemente, después de años de búsqueda de emplazamientos y solicitudes rechazadas, la municipalidad de Brisbane ha cedido el uso de una parcela de 15.000 m2 al lado del rio Brisbane al
"Brisbane Blokart sailors have been struggling for many years to find an area large enough to hold race meets. Beaches, netball courts and the odd park have been the basis of the available areas within the Brisbane Area. Each area was dependent on tides, wind or weather conditions and due to their sizes was only suitable for casual sailing. Recently the CQBC Brisbane Division approached the Economic Development QLD Department of the QLD Government to request the use of a large area on the Brisbane River. After a number of rejected request for other sites it was a surprise that they agreed and the site has since been released for Blokart use.
The 15000 Sqm concrete / Bitchumen surface, located on the Brisbane River within the new Northshore precinct has been provided to the CQBC Brisbane Division to hold regular race meets and in time state race events. This is a big boost to the Blokart Sailors in the Brisbane Area and has already seen many sailors dust of their karts and head down for weekend sailing. The area is located next to a popular park and ferry terminal, therefore showcasing the sport to the general public. The club expects to to grow in the coming months as we all enjoy racing most Sundays. We welcome any Blokart sailor in the area or visiting to check out the CQBC Website forum for sail days and come down and enjoy what we have come to call the "Northshore Blokart Track"."

Located on Macarthur Avenue – Hamilton Wharf Brisbane
The Minister of Economic Development QLD (EDQ) has provided some 15000 Sqm concrete and bitumen flat surface to the Brisbane Division to hold sailing events and establish Brisbane’s first permanent home ground.
With a lot of hard work we have been able to come to an agreement, which will see us sailing most weekends throughout the year. The site is also free from any development for the next 10-15 years.
The area is great for any wind direction and with the hard surface provides the ability to sail in light conditions, lighting may also be available for twilight sailing later down the track.
Not only is it on the Brisbane River but also sits in the middle of Brisbane’s newest residential area boasting a high level of public exposure.
The inaugural sail was held on Monday the 1st of April. Although only light winds, we were able to managed to have some fun on a short course throughout the day with 10 karts.
All Blokart sailors nearby or visiting Brisbane are welcome to join us for some exciting social Racing which will be held most Sundays. Details will be posted on the CQBC forum under the Brisbane Division area.
We will also be featuring at the Wharf Side Family Day on the 29-30th June 2013, demonstrations and showcasing the sport to the public.
