I have got a Windreamer and in this mail I am writing on behalf of the Club Trotavientos, in Cádiz, Spain. I've been in this sport since the beginning and it is growing steadily. On the two last weekends we have had two wonderful races with 27 miniyachts (We call them Class 5.60 - that was an agreement in the AEC, Asociació Española de Carrovelas, where we belong - we prefer 5.60 to miniyacht, - but never mind, that's something we will propose officially some day) of various brands (mainly Windreamer, but also Blokart, Rinox and Homemade). You can see videos of our activities in
www.windreamer.es, of course. Also in
www.carrosavela.org.
Now, to the point:
1.- We want to take part in the world championship 2012. Question: Any limits on the number of participants per country/club/brand?
2. Are there any restrictions on karts with "pods", that is, the aerodinamic protection of the front part of the kart. Aparently speed may increase up to 15%, so it's a relevant point in competition.
3. I've been browsing the
http://www.mondial2012.com regarding classes or series. Aparently there is a mistake and it says KITE YACHTS where it should say MINI YACHTS. Am I right?
4. I know it's a litle soon and we cannot register yet. I understand that the final list of participants should be fixed 3 moths before the races, but we want to make sure that we can go with Windreamers. We can't speak for the other pilots at the moment. I think that Rinox and Blokart may go too.
5. Does the AEC have to do the incription or can we, as Club Trotavientos do it?
6. Anything about insurance or any other formalities?
Well I hope, trough this mail, we can work together for a great championship. We will be more especific later, I assume, but for now, we just want to start the contact and find out about the possibilities. By the way, any inscriptions fees?
Let us know of any deadlines or conditions we may not know about yet.
Best greetings.
Luis Pardo, of the Windreamer's Trotavientos Club. Cádiz, Spain
